The Intel Xeon Platinum 8380HL is the large memory flagship of the Cooper Lake family, a 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable processor built for four and eight socket servers on the Cedar Island platform. It runs 28 cores and 56 threads at a 2.90GHz base clock with 4.30GHz max turbo, backed by 38.5MB of L3 cache and six channels of DDR4 memory at up to 3200MT/s. The HL designation raises supported memory capacity to 4.5TB per socket for Intel Optane persistent memory 200 series configurations, the top memory tier available for SAP HANA class in memory workloads on this platform.

Compatible with: four and eight socket Cedar Island platforms with Socket P+ (LGA4189) that accept 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Cooper Lake processors. Cooper Lake and Ice Lake are not interchangeable: the two families share a pin count but use different sockets and platforms. Mainstream dual socket Dell PowerEdge and HPE ProLiant servers do not support this processor family. Confirm platform support and chassis cooling for the 250W TDP before installation.
