The HPE 836260-001 is a Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 type-a modular RAID controller with 2GB of flash backed write cache and 12Gb/s SAS connectivity for ProLiant Gen10 servers. Mounted in the dedicated flexible slot, it delivers eight internal SAS lanes across two x4 mini SAS ports without consuming a PCIe expansion slot. As a performance class controller it supports the full RAID set (0, 1, 1 ADM, 5, 6, 10, 10 ADM, 50, 60) plus Mixed Mode HBA pass-through, and it works with the HPE Smart Storage Battery for cache protection. This is the workhorse controller for virtualization hosts and database servers built on DL360 and DL380 Gen10 platforms.
