The HPE 836259-001 is a Smart Array E208i-a SR Gen10 type-a modular RAID controller with 12Gb/s SAS connectivity for ProLiant Gen10 servers. Mounted in the dedicated flexible slot, it provides eight internal SAS lanes across two x4 mini SAS ports without consuming a PCIe expansion slot. As an essential class controller it carries no cache and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 plus Mixed Mode HBA pass-through. This is the standard heatsink version; a low profile heatsink version (869079-B21 family) exists for GPU configurations and is listed separately.
