The HPE 796853-001 is a standard fan module for 1U Gen9 ProLiant rack servers. Compact 1U platforms depend on high static pressure fans to move air past heatsinks and drive cages packed into limited depth, so a degraded fan shows up as rising inlet temperatures well before it fails outright. Replacing on the first warning is cheaper than replacing after a thermal event.
