The HPE 749997-001 is a Smart HBA H240ar modular controller with 12Gb/s SAS connectivity for ProLiant Gen9 servers. Mounted in the dedicated flexible slot, it provides eight internal SAS lanes through two x4 mini SAS ports without consuming a PCIe expansion slot. It runs in HBA pass-through mode for software defined storage and also offers basic hardware RAID 0, 1, and 5, all without onboard cache.
