The HPE 747596-001 is the six slot fan cage assembly for 2U Gen9 ProLiant rack servers. The cage is the structural carrier that holds the fan modules in the airflow path and connects them to the system board, so a damaged or missing cage stops a node from cooling properly no matter how many good fans are on hand. It is a common shortfall on used chassis, since cages are often stripped separately from fans.

Compatible with: HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9. Also reported compatible with ProLiant DL388 Gen9. Beyond those it fits 2U Gen9 ProLiant platforms built around the same six slot fan cage.
