Built on the Broadcom SAS4116W RAID on chip, it connects SAS, SATA, and NVMe drives with 8GB of DDR4 3200 cache protected by a battery energy pack, and supports 24Gb/s SAS 4.0, 12Gb/s SAS 3.0, and NVMe Gen4 drives with hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 plus non RAID pass-through. The adapter form factor installs in a standard PCIe 4.0 slot and is the choice for platforms without a front PERC mount, including C6620 sleds where the energy pack detaches into the air shroud.
