The Dell PERC H965i Front is the PERC 12 generation front mounted RAID controller (fPERC) for 16th generation PowerEdge servers. Built on the Broadcom SAS4116W RAID on chip, it connects SAS, SATA, and NVMe drives across 16 PCIe 4.0 lanes with 8GB of DDR4 3200 cache protected by a battery energy pack, and supports 24Gb/s SAS 4.0, 12Gb/s SAS 3.0, and NVMe Gen4 drives with hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 plus non RAID pass-through. This is the standard storage controller for current generation R660 and R760 deployments. Dell ships this identical card under several part numbers depending on the production run; they are physically and functionally interchangeable, and each is stocked separately when available.
