The Dell PERC H965e is the PERC 12 generation external RAID controller for 16th generation PowerEdge servers. Built on the Broadcom SAS4116W RAID on chip, it provides four external SFF-8674 ports for attaching JBOD enclosures, with 8GB of DDR4 3200 cache protected by a battery energy pack and support for 24Gb/s SAS 4.0 and 12Gb/s SAS 3.0 drives, up to 240 drives across attached enclosures, with hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60. This is the PERC 12 successor to the H840 for direct attached external storage expansion. Note the H965e is not supported as a boot controller.
