It installs in a standard PCIe 4.0 expansion slot and delivers 12Gb/s SAS and 6Gb/s SAS/SATA connectivity with hardware RAID 0, 1, and 10 plus non RAID pass-through. As an entry class controller it carries no onboard cache, which keeps it well suited to boot volumes, mirrored pairs, and simple striped arrays where a battery backed cache is unnecessary. The adapter form factor is the option when a front (fPERC) mount is not available in the chassis.
