Intel Xeon Gold 6100 and 5100 Series Processors (1st Gen)

First generation Intel Xeon Gold processors launched in 2017 on the Skylake architecture and the LGA3647 socket, splitting into two lines: the 6100 series with full UPI bandwidth, DDR4-2666 memory support, and up to 22 cores, and the 5100 series with a leaner feature set at lower cost. Both support up to four sockets.

These CPUs power one of the largest installed bases of dual socket servers in service today, which makes 1st Gen Gold parts like the 6130, 6138, and 6148 perennial favorites for adding cores to existing hosts or building matched pairs on a budget.
